Japan Establishes Space Defence Force Amid Regional Security Tensions
Japan's parliament has enacted legislation to reorganise its Air Self-Defence Force with a new focus on space defence operations. The restructured unit, launching by March 2027, will establish dedicated space operations capabilities and strengthen defences in strategically important southwestern islands.
